This intensive training program will prepare participants to become the next generation of leaders in Cosmetic Acupuncture with 100 hours* of intensive didactic and clinical study. This course will include:

  • Acupuncture techniques for treating the face

This course brings together some of the leaders in cosmetic and facial acupuncture to showcase the diversity of styles within this growing field. In addition to training in a core style of Cosmetic Acupuncture as offered by Shellie Goldstein, L.Ac., participants will be introduced to clinical skills and strategies developed and mastered by internationally-renowned guest lecturers, Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L.Ac. and Virginia Doran, L.Ac.. Plus, there will be a 1-day mini workshop in Zero Balancing, a subtle but powerful bodywork technique to easily integrate facial concerns with structural imbalances.

*In order to complete the program, participants will be required to follow a clinical cosmetic acupuncture patient for a minimum of 10 weekly sessions and present the case study to the class.


Shellie Goldstein, M.S., L.Ac., Lead Instructor

Shellie Goldstein is widely considered one of the leading worldwide experts on cosmetic facial acupuncture. She has been dubbed “the face whisperer” and “acupuncturist to the stars” by her executive patients and elite clientele in Manhattan and the Hamptons.


Ms. Goldstein has been featured on ABC Good Morning America, NBC Telemundo, MARTHA, and Sirius radio. She is the author of her book Your Best Face Now: Look Younger in 20 Days With The Do-It-Yourself Acupressure Facelift and Touch+Glow®: The Do-It-Yourself Acupressure Facelift Kit. She is a faculty member at Tri State College of Acupuncture (TSCA) and adjunct faculty member at New York College of Health Professions where she teaches advanced cosmetic acupuncture to students and post graduate professionals. Shellie writes distance learning courses in cosmetic acupuncture for acupuncturists around the world. Special Guest Instructors

Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L.Ac. is the internationally recognized author of the book, Constitutional Facial Acupuncture (Elsevier UK, 2014). She is an acclaimed teacher, an acupuncturist, an herbalist, Acutonics® and Zen Shiatsu practitioner, cranio-sacral therapist and a professional opera singer. Mary Elizabeth is acknowledged to be the leading international authority on facial acupuncture, and has created innovative treatment protocols that emphasize a constitutional approach to this modality, and a wide range of educational seminars that present her unique philosophy and treatment protocols.

She has 30+ years of clinical professional experience as a healing practitioner, and has personally trained close to 5,000 healthcare practitioners from 5 continents. In 2012, she instituted a unique 2-year professional certification training for facial acupuncturists at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis, MN, the International GOLD STANDARD FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE® Certification Program, the only one of its kind in the world today, which has run successfully in 2012-13 and 2015-16, and attracted practitioners from a number of foreign countries and many US states. A third Program will launch in June 2018.

Virginia Doran, M.Ac., L.Ac., L.M.T has been practicing in the field of holistic health since 1979. She holds a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and licenses in Acupuncture and Massage Therapy as well as being nationalboard certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology (NCCAOM). Ms. Doran has been a teacher and lecturer in the field of holistic health since 1980 on subjects which include massage therapy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, nutrition, flower essences, Chinese and Western herbs, and supplements. Virginia is a recognized expert and pioneer in the field of healthy aging and beauty through holistic means. Ms. Doran is actively sought after internationally to train practitioners in the method of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture which she originated  in 1995 and various other modalities. Virginia has created a referral service on her website to share the benefits of the extensive publicity she has received about her work in newspapers, magazines, radio and major television networks.  Ms. Doran was especially honored in 1997 to have been the first Westerner to teach acupuncture in Japan. Virginia is currently writing two books on Facial Rejuvenation: an instructional text for practitioners of Oriental Medicine and a book for the public on her full program of Facial Rejuvenation and has produced an instructional DVD for acupuncturists on her method of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. James McCormick, MS, LAc studied Five-Element Acupuncture with Dr. J. R. Worsley in England from 1972 through 1982, and has been practicing Five-Element Acupuncture since 1973. He was on the first committee to create the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture, among other things helping to create the first national exam for acupuncturists and the first Clean Needle Technique course and exam. Jim began his Zero Balancing training in 1974 with ZB’s founder, Dr. Fritz Smith, and became the first teacher of ZB after Dr. Smith, in 1979.
